In Bicontinous cubic lipid-water particles and cubosomal dispersions as published in Mesoporous crystals and related nano-structured materials (6) it is shown that the nodal surface approximation of minimal surfaces by the methods of von Schnering and Nesper is most useful to describe the bilayer conformations. The gyroid surface is shown to the right.
